Philadelphia Newborn Session
Ahhhhhh newborn babies I can smell their heads every second of every day for the rest of my life I swear.
Newborn sessions (especially ones like this) are just so special. I feel like from the moment you have your baby you are in this blissful bubble that you won’t allow anyone to pop. And then you get home (a little bit of reality sets in, like oh sh*t we’re really doing this) and everything just seems surreal. You just look at this little being knowing you and the love of your life created the most PERFECT individual and you never knew love could be this pure.
Ugh okay let me move on before I get emotional.
Alex reached out to me once he and his family got home from the hospital in hopes of surprising his wife with an in-home newborn session (my favorite). I immediately said yes and we got to planning. Jordan was so stoked on this idea once she knew and sent me a few inspiration images on Pinterest (p.s. Always down to see your inspiration images so we can create something with the same vibe but unique to you. I always love seeing what you love).
Alex and Jordan live right outside Philadelphia so they are a bit further away, but worth the drive a million times over. When I stepped into their home it was like I had died and gone to designer heaven from the wallpaper to the accent furniture. Then came their sunroom and I was ready to move in. They were feeding the babe when I got there so it was perfect for everyone to ease into the vibe of getting their photos taken. Honestly, the best way to start off your session is by doing something mundane like a feeding or cleaning up an area because it sets the tone of the realness we will document throughout our session.
From beginning to end, Alex, Jordan, and their babe were just so chill to be around and overall a gift to photograph. I loved exploring around their home and finding new little corners to photograph from/in. I am so grateful they welcomed me into their home with such open arms during one of the most vulnerable times in their story.
