Family Session in Flanders New Jersey
I don’t even know where to begin with this one. I am forever holding these images close to my heart.
I met this mama through a mom’s group for Morris County, New Jersey moms and we instantly hit it off. She is just the sweetest being and of course her daughter is just an angel. Lori soon after reached out about doing a session at home in their backyard before summer was over because they never did newborn photos and she wanted some stills to hold on to as her baby Natalie grows. (As they do!!)
I was so stoked for this session- it was the perfect time of the evening and the sun was just cooling off from the day. Once I arrived at their home, and saw them all together as a family I knew this session was going to be a breeze. They are just naturally so perfect together.
We immediately made our way to the backyard and ran around starting to make memories that were going to stay in their hearts forever. I’ll never forget the way that they all just smiled at each other as chased one another around laughing like there as no tomorrow. This family stayed present with each other and didn’t worry about anything else other than being together. That’s where and when I do my best work. When you can just be you.
It’s also something I always want to take pride in- being able to hold a space for you as an individual, as a couple, and as a family to just be. You deserve memories that will make your heart explode when you look back at them, and I think that’s what we did with this session.
It felt so special to document these moments for these three and I know the feeling was mutual.
There’s something about summer sunset sessions especially in New Jersey- the smell of freshly cut grass, tan lines from the beach, and sand still in your shoes from the weekend before. It just hits different when you can call this place home.
