Why You Should Print Your Memories Using Professional Photo Albums

In this day and age, we live on our devices. Or more realistically, our lives are on our phones; our photos, from the lazy sunday mornings to the biggest chapters in our lives, get uploaded to “the cloud” and live there to collect the internet dust bunnies.

Hey, I’m guilty of doing it too. I take the photos, I back them up (which you should ALWAYS do!!!), I post them, and once in a blue moon, I’ll scroll back through to reminisce. But honestly, tt’s a fraction of the nostalgia that I’m REALLY looking for when I go back through memories.

I want to flip through my memories, not scroll.  I want to feel the pages on my finger tips like I did when I flipped through my Nana’s wedding album. I want my kids to do the same thing. We forget how invaluable printed images are when all we see are digital screens day in and day out.

When I first started photographing weddings, I offered USB’s with a gallery upload to all of my couples. I thought this was a quick solution to a huge void I wanted to fill for my couples, and it was. It worked…for the time being.

But, eventually, I started having problems with every USB I received. Uploading the images took hours on end, and opening each image just to view took at least a minute- no matter what the file size. And I thought, “If I’m having this kind of problem now, what will my couple’s experience be like?” That’s all I care about- how my couples FEEL when they go through the images from their day.

It’s my promise to bring you back to every moment like you’re in the room, so to try and achieve something of that magnitude through a computer screen just wasn’t it.

The reality is…

USB’s with digital images eventually end up lost in a drawer and rarely looked at.

Your online gallery- you download once, post your faves, and forget which folder you saved it to.

In 10 years, will you even be able to plug that USB into your computer? What about being able to download your gallery again when you lose the link?

It happens more often than you think, and I hate it when couples aren’t able to access their photographs because of an allotted amount of time on their WEDDING gallery!

A hand-crafted professional wedding photo album and matted framed prints are tangible items that will work the exact same way every time with an even more impactful effect as time goes on…especially 50 years from now.

The best parts of my days are when I walk through our home and see our favorite wedding day memories displayed so intentionally- just like how we wanted our day to feel.

Or when our friends come over, and I’m able to pull out our wedding album and show them proudly how our day unfolded so genuinely. As a wedding photographer and former bride, there is literally no better feeling/gift to receive than the nostalgia that comes from holding your wedding album.

So fill the walls of your home with PRINTS that fill your heart even more. Allow your wedding photographer to design that professional wedding photo album for you to pass down to generations to come.
